FEATURES
The Krell Home Theater Standard 7.1 is a full system control center offering exceptional audio and video performance, flexibility, and ease of use. It is the centerpiece in Krell’s HEAT—High End Audio Theater—system concept, which applies the fundamental principles of Krell audio engineering to the creation of a fully integrated high-performance multi-channel audio/video system. Krell HEAT makes it possible to enjoy movies at home with audio quality unmatched by even the finest commercial theater venues.
The analog circuitry—the most critical stage in a surround preamp/processor—features the advanced signal path developed for Krell’s flagship stereo preamplifier, the Krell Current Tunnel. All eight channels employ fully balanced Krell Current Mode topology in a zero-feedback configuration, delivering a staggering 1MHz bandwidth. This circuitry assures the most transparent reproduction of today’s most demanding movie soundtracks and high resolution audio formats. In Preamp mode, the HTS 7.1 operates as a pure analog preamplifier, bypassing all digital circuitry to ensure the cleanest, most direct signal path.
The Home Theater Standard 7.1 is THX Ultra certified and is fully compatible with the latest surround processing modes, including THX Surround EX, Dolby Digital EX, DTS 6.1 ES, DTS NEO 6, and Dolby Pro Logic II. Additionally, Krell Music Surround modes provide enhanced reproduction of conventional stereo music sources. The digital surround engine features state-of-the-art signal processors, operating at high speed and upsampled 24-bit precision, augmented by 8MB of added memory. The resulting boost in processing efficiency improves bit stream recognition and channel steering. Digital crossover circuitry, offering a wide range of crossover frequencies, operates in 48-bit double-precision mode for unparalleled ability to optimize speaker/subwoofer system performance. Finally, all channels are processed by 24-bit/192kHz DACs, yielding the most accurate analog signal possible.
